STRIVE is Dedicated to Uplifting Women in the Workplace

STRIVE’s Women's Empowerment Event is an annual fundraiser which celebrates women by sharing the stories of STRIVE’s women graduates' journey to employment and highlighting the success of powerful women leaders and influencers. Funds raised provide a direct path for motivated women to pursue financial security and economic mobility that transforms their lives and the lives of their family.


2022 Honorees

Chloe Barzey

Chloe Barzey is the Atlanta Office Managing Director at Accenture - a leading global professional services company providing a broad range of services and solutions (in strategy, consulting, technology, and operations) that deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity. She has over 29 years consulting and industry experience, including 24 years with Accenture. As the Office Managing Director, she leads Accenture’s vision and operations across Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. She is the executive sponsor for several women’s and diversity programs within Accenture and is an active member of the Atlanta community. Chloe is passionate about working with others to dream big, collaborating to innovate and making a sustainable positive impact for her people, her clients, and the broader community. Chloe is a leader in the ED&I space and is intentional about leveraging her platform to create greater equity for women and people of color. She has an MBA from Wharton and an Electrical Engineering degree from Cornell University. Her interests include reading, Bible study, international travel, exercise, skiing, dancing salsa, learning French, and enjoying good times with good people. Chloe lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and three children.

 

Ngan Nguyen

Dr. Ngan Nguyen is the founder and President of Ai Vy Springrolls, a gourmet food company, and also Ascend Leadership’s National Director of Research & Thought Leadership. She is a social justice champion with over 25 years of experience in driving and delivering on transformational projects that contribute to a more just and healthy world. Her gender and human rights work at the earlier stages of her career helped shape her eventual interest in DEI. Prior to Ascend, Ngan worked in international development, starting with field assignments at the United Nations in Southeast Asia. She then joined the Harvard Institute for International Development to help drive US/Vietnam normalization, served as a senior program officer at Oxfam America, co-led a National Geographic sea-kayaking environmental expedition to Vietnam, and advised Asia Society on global initiatives, including the Asia Rising series. Ngan has a doctorate in International Relations and Asian Politics, and when she is not advocating for women’s rights, human rights, Pan-Asian advancement and social justice, she enjoys sampling new cuisines with her husband, three children, and dear friends in New York City and around the globe.

 

Minji Ro

Minji Ro is the co-founder and Co-CEO of Parity powered by Evolution of Sports. Parity's mission is to improve the lives of pro women athletes through technology and analytics. With a current roster of nearly 750 athletes from more than 35 sports, Parity pairs athletes with brands and causes whose values align in an effort to tackle the massive gender pay gap issue in professional sports sponsorship income and to create a true middle class among women athletes.

Before co-founding EOS, she worked for 12 years at Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch within investment banking and equity derivatives. While in finance, she served as co-chair for Goldman’s Pride month, managed the Women’s Video Conference Series (which was later brought over to Deutsche Bank), and also ran an innovative LGBTQ recruiting contest in which 70 teams of undergraduate students participated. Minji was recognized as being among the top 5% of performers in the Vice President population at Deutsche.

In the course of receiving a B.A. in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics at Northwestern University, Minji authored a senior thesis entitled, “NBA vs WNBA: The Pay Disparity in Professional Basketball.” She was also the first paid intern at the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and received an offer to be their Manager of Finance and Operations. Minji recently launched the Associate Board for Athlete Ally, whose mission is to end homophobia and transphobia in sport.

Minji lives in the suburbs of New York City with her wife, Phillippa, twins, and schnauzer, Harry. While Minji enjoys playing basketball and is the former Commissioner for the NYC Gay Basketball League, Phillippa is a competitive marathon runner and IRONMAN 70.3 triathlete.
