STRIVE will honor Dr Antoinette (Tonie) Leatherberry, EdD, for her long-standing advocacy for leadership roles for women and people of color. Tonie has been a member of STRIVE's Board of Directors since 2022 and has brought her insights about equity through leadership to our mission and organization.
Dr. Antoinette (Tonie) Leatherberry, EdD, is a force. As an advisor to CEOs of the world’s largest companies in technology, retail and manufacturing, Tonie has led the way for women, especially women of color to rise to transformative leadership roles. Through her remarkable tenure at Deloitte, Tonie became one of the firm’s most sought-after global experts in IT strategy and implementation, data analytics and post-merger integration. She served as Managing Principal of Deloitte’s $300 million northeast regional data analytics practice where she led a team of more than 2,000 professionals. At the intersection of digital transformation, operational issues and leadership, Tonie proved a trusted voice for her Board of Directors; served as the Board Chair for the Executive Leadership Council and founded the Chairman’s Council of Academic Achievement to create opportunities for Black students in America’s educational systems. Tonie also served as the President of the Deloitte Foundation, where she led the mission to develop future leaders through education. In this role she has overseen the distribution of over $50M in grants to 400+ schools.
Today, after decades of advising companies on information technology, governance, branding, reputational risk management and resilience, Tonie continues to provide her leadership insights and experience as the CEO of Amplify Advisors, LLC, a firm she founded to focus on executive coaching and business development for small businesses.
Importantly, Tonie shares her knowledge, guidance and commitment with STRIVE as a 3-year member of the Board of Directors. She also serves on the Widener University Board of Trustees, the Boston University Board of Trustees, and on the for-profit boards of American Family Insurance, Zoetis, Inc., and Direct Digital Holdings where she serves as lead director.
Tonie’s greatest achievement is raising her two young daughters, Kyra and Aisha, as a single mother after the passing of her husband.
